Pretty sure I’m preaching to the choir here when I say that grammar matters. It’s enormously annoying to find a sentiment with which you might agree, but it’s so full of errors you couldn’t possibly share it without intense editing.
Which ones bug you the most? There’s the whole you’re vs. your debacle. Oooh, and defiantly in the place of definitely–love that one. And how about 4 rather than for, and 2 instead of to. Honestly, if you’re in such a hurry that you can’t be bothered to write a two or three letter word, maybe you should come back when you have more time.
Perhaps there should be some rules for less conscientious scribes:
- Check your work.
- If you aren’t sure, ask someone.
- If you still aren’t sure, change it.
- Numerals are numerals, words are words, and never the twain shall meet.
