So this came today. Official juror summons. Yep. Apparently my name was drawn by the United States District Court and the Southern District of Florida. Explain to me why my number never gets drawn for the Lotto. Sigh.
At first I thought, Well at least it’s in the summer. It won’t interrupt work. But then I checked the date. August 10. As in my last day of summer vacation. I have to report to work bright and early August 11. Matter of fact, I’m supposed to do a presentation.
I know, I know, civic duty and all that. But I’d be lying if I said I’m not crossing my fingers that I’ll call the night before and they won’t need me.
Adventures in Date Night 
i just finished a month long jury service for my district court. my work pays to serve and the feds pay $40/day and mileage too. I was getting $300 weekly checks. 🙂

I was only in the office one day a week for the month. lol they told us at the beginning of jury selection it would be about 6-8 weeks and if you had trouble with that, speck up. it was like a mini vacation from work for me. lol

I’ve been called for jury duty three times. Got out of it twice, went the last time but did not get selected. Actually kinda an interesting process.
