It’s that time of year again, kids. Thursdays through Sundays, July 9-13 and July 16-19, The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival in cooperation with Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation presents the 25th season of Shakespeare by the Sea at the Seabreeze Amphitheater at Jupiter’s Carlin Park.
Last year’s performance of Much Ado About Nothing was the best I’ve seen so far. We took my folks and my six year-old niece and everyone had a good time. This this year promises to be just as good. For their 25th anniversary season they’re presenting Hamlet.
If you’re in this neck of the woods, I’d highly recommend making a point of catching at least one of the performances. The gates open at 6:30 and the show starts at 8:00 (there is no curtain, it’s an amphitheater). Bring chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, and coolers. We usually bring wine. Unless it’s not allowed. In which case we never bring wine. Ahem. Oh, and you might bring some mosquito repellent. Live and learn.
As always, admission is free, but they do request a suggested $5 donation per adult to help defray costs.
Don’t you just love July?
