The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,700 times in 2015. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.
Mr. R. and I are enjoying a few days off together here between Christmas an New Year’s. Coincidentally, there’s been a Game of Thrones marathon for the last few days. Not that we’ve been watching for ten hours a day. But we’ve seen our fair share.
At one point today, I shouted at the television, because I’m reasonably certain you can change the outcome of a scene if the characters can just hear you.
Mr. R. jumped. “You startled me.”
I sheepishly apologized.
“No, that’s alright,” my sweet replied. “I’m glad you’ve got some passion.”
Mr. R. and I enjoyed a lovely Christmas Eve date night (more on that another time) and a very nice Christmas day. We slept late, enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, exchanged our own gifts, and spent a few hours visiting family. Our time together reminded me of the lucky girl that I am.
Tonight’s serenade is Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden. It’s a beautiful song, and the bonus is that the video is shot in Paris, one of my all time favorite places. And it reminds me that I am truly, madly, and deeply in love with my sweet.
I hope that your holiday was special. Happy Saturday night!

It’s Christmas Eve Eve, y’all! To celebrate, here is my favorite version of my favorite Christmas song. I suppose it’s an occupational hazard to be fascinated by the classroom instruments. Be sure to watch for the pop-up kids.
And try not to be distracted by the awkwardly placed stars. Doh! Almost made it to mature.
Here’s a little word-nerd humor. These had me laughing my ass off. And while this week’s posts might not yet have risen to ‘mature’, the level has been raised a tad.
Plus, I may have wet myself a little bit by the time I got to #12.
Is everyone feeling in the holiday spirit? It’s my first day of a two-week vacation and I’m feeling very festive. I can’t be the only one. #Christmasweek is trending on Twitter.
There’s Christmas music everywhere. All the holiday movies and specials are playing on television. Once again, Publix commercials are moving me to tears.
Here’s my all-time favorite Christmas ad. I mean, who doesn’t love that classic holiday standard Jingle Bells? And when it’s expertly played by professional musicians? Priceless. So I say, ding dong bells!
I know. I promised I’d be more mature. But it isn’t Friday yet. Besides, Rita says I don’t hafta.
Christmas is less than a week away and I just started a two-week reprieve from the daily beatings. Maybe that’s why I’m feeling a bit irreverent tonight.
Christmas is a time for hearth and home, for kith and kin. What the heck is kith? Just Googled it–apparently it means people you hang with and who aren’t necessarily related to you. Gotcha. Anyhoo…
Mr. R. and I will be spending Christmas alone, just the two of us. The kids are off doing their own things this year so on Friday, we’ll probably sleep late and take the day in a leisurely way, maybe later in the afternoon go visit a few kith and kin (using it like a pro, now!), deliver a few gifts.
But home is where your loved ones are, whether few or many. Tonight’s serenade features the Dropkick Murphys putting the ‘fun’ in dysfunctional with their holiday song, The Season’s Upon Us. Before you judge, think to yourself, Who among us hasn’t been there?
I promise that before Friday, I’ll pull myself together and be more mature. Probably.
